In a strategic effort to lower capital barriers for female-led businesses, Happy Woman Solutions Limited has partnered with Mayden Microfinance Bank to launch the Happy Woman Match Fund.
The joint financing scheme enables women-led Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to acquire high-value productive equipment—ranging from industrial sewing machines and commercial ovens to beauty salon equipment, freezers, and digital printing presses.
How the 50/50 Matching Model Works
The fund uses a combined personal savings and institutional credit model to accelerate asset ownership:
-
50% Equity Savings: The participating business owner saves 50% of the total cost of the required machinery/asset within the fund scheme.
-
50% Bank Debt Match: Mayden Microfinance Bank provides loan financing for the remaining 50% balance.
-
Immediate Deployment: The business acquires and deploys the physical asset immediately into operations, generating revenues to service the loan rather than losing months or years saving the full purchase price.
Key Stakeholder Perspectives
-
Kunle Erinle (CEO, Happy Woman Solutions Limited):
“Through the Happy Woman Match Fund, we are providing a practical pathway for women entrepreneurs to acquire the productive assets they need today while cultivating healthy financial habits that will strengthen their businesses for the future. Many women possess the technical skills, customer base, and operational experience to succeed, but equipment deficits regularly bottleneck their growth.”
-
Foluke Alakija (Founder & MD, Mayden Microfinance Bank):
