In a spirited celebration of national pride, innovation, and international engagement, Tripoint Travels—the official travel partner of GEN Nigeria—hosted a special pre-departure brunch in honor of Nigerian delegates heading to the 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC).

The event took place at Tripoint’s Lagos headquarters and welcomed a distinguished group of entrepreneurs, investors, policy advocates, and public sector leaders. Among those present were Dr. Peter Bamkole of Pan Atlantic University, GEN Nigeria’s Managing Director Dr. Olawale Anifowose, Dr. Babangida Ruma of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, SANEF CEO Mrs. Uche Uzoebo, Nollywood actor and influencer Mr. Umar Gombe, and other government and ecosystem stakeholders.

GEC 2025: A Global Stage for Innovation

Set for June 2–5 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) is an annual convening hosted by the Global Entrepreneurship Network. Attracting over 5,000 participants from more than 200 countries, the GEC is a dynamic melting pot for innovators, financiers, researchers, and decision-makers, all working toward advancing global entrepreneurial ecosystems.

This year marks a significant return of the event to U.S. soil, with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation co-hosting and showcasing the state’s business-friendly landscape.

Building Bonds Before the Big Stage

The brunch offered a relaxed and engaging space for the Nigerian delegation to network, align on their shared mission, and build unity before representing the country on a global platform. The gathering fostered meaningful conversations around goals, expectations, and collaborative opportunities that lie ahead.

Mrs. Shuhda Muhammed, founder of Tripoint Travels, reflected on the theme of GEC 2025, “The Bold Change the World,” emphasizing the event’s focus on transformative thinking. “GEC is more than a gathering; it’s where international innovation meets grassroots action. We created this brunch to inspire connection, clarity, and commitment before the journey begins,” she said. “At Tripoint, we don’t just manage logistics—we empower journeys.”

Amplifying Nigeria’s Global Voice

Dr. Olawale Anifowose highlighted the importance of Nigeria’s participation at GEC, calling it both strategic and symbolic. “This platform strengthens our global connections and equips our entrepreneurs with tools and networks for sustainable growth,” he noted. “GEN Nigeria, in partnership with Tripoint, is enabling impactful representation and helping innovators scale their influence beyond borders.”

Tripoint Travels’ role extends far beyond flight bookings. As GEN Nigeria’s designated travel coordinator, they are managing every logistical detail—from visa processing to accommodations—ensuring delegates experience a smooth and empowering journey to GEC 2025.

Empowerment Beyond Travel

Beyond its commercial operations, Tripoint is also making waves in ecosystem development. Through its nonprofit arm, Tripoint Academy, the company offers capacity-building programs, mentorship, and international exposure for emerging entrepreneurs. This dual mission—enabling both movement and growth—cements Tripoint’s place as a key catalyst in Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem.

“We see every journey we plan as a bridge to opportunity,” said Mrs. Muhammed. “Travel is our medium, but empowerment is our purpose.”

A Symbolic Artistic Touch

The highlight of the brunch was an interactive art session where delegates jointly created a symbolic painting. The collaborative artwork was designed to reflect the unity, creativity, and cultural richness of Nigeria’s entrepreneurial community, capturing the spirit of the nation’s delegation.

Representing Resilience and Vision

Among the high-profile delegates is Mr. Rotimi Awofisibe, Managing Director of VFD Bank, whose inclusion signifies Nigeria’s growing presence and leadership in global business circles. The diverse composition of the delegation underscores Nigeria’s entrepreneurial strength, cultural diversity, and the resilience of its innovation community.

“We’re proud to walk alongside GEN Nigeria in empowering these changemakers,” concluded Mrs. Muhammed. “Attending the GEC isn’t just about going global—it’s about coming back home transformed.”
