LUYUAN Group, a Hong Kong-listed electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has launched a new West Africa Market Development Center in Nigeria as part of its broader push into the African mobility market.
The announcement was made during the company’s 2026 Overseas Partners Conference held in Shanghai, where LUYUAN unveiled plans to strengthen its international operations through localized partnerships and infrastructure development.
The Nigerian facility will be managed by Jinhua Rainsun International Trade Co., Ltd. and is expected to serve as the company’s operational base for West Africa. The centre will support LUYUAN’s strategy of combining Chinese research and manufacturing capabilities with local market execution and customer support.
According to the company, the hub will focus on improving after-sales services, technical support, dealer training, and spare parts distribution across Nigeria. Plans are also underway to establish dedicated service centres and warehousing systems to strengthen product reliability and customer experience.
LUYUAN said its electric mobility products are being adapted specifically for African conditions, including challenging road networks, high temperatures, and dusty environments often encountered in the region.
Chairman of Rainsun, Sun Huan, stated that African consumers prioritise durability and long-term performance over low-cost alternatives. He explained that LUYUAN’s engineering strength, particularly its liquid-cooled motor technology, played a major role in the partnership decision.
Meanwhile, Hu Jihong described the Nigerian centre as more than just a sales operation, noting that the partnership is focused on building long-term local capabilities through technology transfer, service infrastructure, and market adaptation.
The collaboration also leverages Rainsun’s nearly 20 years of distribution experience in Nigeria, where the company has developed an extensive nationwide network.
The expansion forms part of LUYUAN’s wider international growth strategy, which includes the establishment of innovation and operational hubs across Europe, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Africa in 2026.
With demand for alternative transportation and green mobility solutions increasing globally, LUYUAN is positioning itself as a major player in the electric vehicle ecosystem, particularly in emerging markets where affordable and efficient transportation remains a critical need.
