As West Africa’s energy sector accelerates its digital transformation, the need for safer, smarter, and more resilient operations has become a top priority for operators. To address these demands, the Asset Integrity, Automation & Cybersecurity Conference (AIAC West Africa 2026) will take place from June 9–10, 2026, at The Civic Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
The strategic summit will serve as a premier regional platform bringing together over 500 delegates, 50 speakers, and 25 technical exhibitors from more than 20 countries. The core focus is to deploy advanced engineering and digital solutions to safeguard the continent’s multi-billion dollar oil and gas infrastructure.
1. The Two Specialized Conference Tracks
Organized by Aldrich Energy, the technical program is divided into two focused streams designed to address the deep operational risks facing sub-Saharan downstream and upstream infrastructure:
-
Asset Integrity and Corrosion Stream: Focusing on strategies to prevent structural failures, extend the operational life of aging assets, and combat marine degradation. Key topics include Cathodic Protection (CP), Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) frameworks, and Pipeline Pigging.
-
Automation and Cybersecurity Stream: Exploring how industrial systems can strengthen their cyber defenses during rapid digital upgrades. Discussions will center on securing Operational Technology (OT), mitigating Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system vulnerabilities, and defending the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) from state-backed and independent ransomware groups.
2. Institutional Leadership and Corporate Participation
The conference’s technical agenda is chaired by Dr. (Engr.) Gbenga Ayodele Owolabi, Commercial Manager at the ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC). To ensure high-level policy and technical alignment, the event will feature opening keynotes from prominent industry leaders, including Engr. Audu Ibrahim, Managing Director of NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited, and Dr. Kola Fagbayi, former Vice President of British Petroleum (BP).
The event has drawn active technical participation from major National Oil Companies (NOCs), International Oil Companies (IOCs), and regional energy producers, including:
-
NNPC, NLNG, and Seplat Energy (Nigeria)
-
Ghana Gas (Ghana)
-
Sonangol (Angola)
-
TotalEnergies and Shell (Global Operators)
-
Renaissance Africa Energy Company, Fertiglobe, and DoweeGas
3. B2B Technology Showcase and Ecosystem Partners
Running alongside the technical sessions, the AIAC West Africa Exhibition will provide asset owners and reliability engineers with direct access to next-generation industrial hardware and software solutions.
Exhibitors such as Quomodo Systems, Revoseal Nigeria Limited, Cenosco, RusselSmith, and Asset Integrity Engineering (AIE) will showcase practical applications of digital twins, AI-driven predictive maintenance tools, and specialized maintenance robotics.
The summit is being executed in partnership with GEXPERTS Consultoria Limited, with strong institutional backing from key local capacity-building and security bodies. These supporting partners include the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) as Knowledge Partner, alongside the Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN), Women in Energy Oil & Gas (WEOG), and the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).
