Juliet Ehimuan on DICE 3.0 and Africa’s Digital Future

Dr. Juliet Ehimuan, founder of Beyond Limits, shares insights on how DICE 3.0 will empower African businesses to harness innovation for sustainable growth in the digital economy.

What is DICE?

DICE stands for Digital Innovation and Creative Excellence—an initiative by Beyond Limits that connects key players in Africa’s tech, business, and creative ecosystems. It serves as a collaborative platform for founders, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders to exchange ideas, form strategic partnerships, and drive economic growth.

“Unlocking Africa’s digital potential requires a collective effort,” Ehimuan explains. “DICE provides the space for collaboration on a large scale, allowing entrepreneurs and key stakeholders to exchange ideas and form meaningful connections that propel the ecosystem forward.”

By fostering innovation, DICE aims to accelerate business expansion, unlock new opportunities, and drive technological advancements across the continent.

The Evolution of DICE: From 1.0 to 3.0

Each edition of DICE has built upon the previous one, addressing key challenges in Africa’s digital economy:

DICE 1.0: Focused on how technology can unlock Africa’s potential and drive sustainable development.

DICE 2.0: Shifted attention to monetization in the creative industry, helping African creators move beyond content creation to revenue generation.

DICE 3.0: Tackles a major challenge—scaling African businesses beyond local markets. Many businesses struggle with market fragmentation, regulatory limitations, and infrastructure challenges. This edition aims to provide practical solutions through discussions with startup leaders, investors, policymakers, and global experts.

“We are bringing together voices with firsthand experience in scaling businesses, navigating market challenges, and leveraging technology for growth,” Ehimuan adds.

Key Highlights of DICE 3.0

DICE 3.0 features three major sessions designed to provide actionable insights:

Ecosystem Panel – Features startup leaders and investors sharing experiences on scaling businesses across borders and overcoming common challenges.

Diplomatic Panel – Includes consul generals from the U.S., China, and Switzerland, discussing the key enablers of vibrant digital economies in their countries.

Fireside Chat – A deep conversation with Nigeria’s Minister for Industry, Trade, and Investment, exploring policy-driven solutions for investment, cross-border collaboration, and sustainable growth.

Beyond discussions, spotlight videos will showcase inspiring success stories of African businesses that have successfully expanded beyond their home markets, serving as motivation for attendees.

Key Speakers at DICE 3.0

The event will host an impressive lineup of thought leaders, including:

Dr. Jumoke Oduwole – Minister for Trade, Industry, and Investment
JoEllen Gorg – Acting Consul General, U.S. Consulate General, Lagos
Frank Eggmann – Consul General, Switzerland, Lagos
Barbara Lehninger – Head of Advantage Austria in Nigeria
Akinyinka Akintunde – CEO, AFEX
Deepankar Rustagi – CEO, OmniRetail
Sanne Steemers – Founder, Suuru Capital
Richard Oyome – Co-founder and CEO, Raenest

Their insights will provide a well-rounded perspective on business expansion, investment, and cross-border collaboration.

Driving Africa’s Economic Transformation

Africa’s economic future depends on businesses expanding beyond their immediate markets. However, many companies face hurdles such as:

Market fragmentation
Complex regulatory environments
Funding challenges
Infrastructure limitations
Operational barriers

“The digital economy offers Africa a viable pathway to economic growth by leveraging its large population, tech-savvy youth, and innovative entrepreneurs,” says Ehimuan.

However, other global regions—like Asia and Eastern Europe—are also competing to position themselves as future growth hubs. For Africa to thrive, silos must be broken down, and the entire digital ecosystem must be seamlessly connected.

DICE 3.0 accelerates this vision by equipping business leaders, innovators, and policymakers with the knowledge and relationships needed to scale successfully.

“As with previous editions, we will publish an insights report capturing key lessons and actionable strategies from DICE 3.0,” Ehimuan confirms.

DICE’s Role in Africa’s Digital and Entrepreneurial Landscape

Africa is at a pivotal moment—technology has the power to drive economic growth, governance improvements, and higher living standards. However, realizing this requires strategic collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers.

DICE serves as a catalyst for this transformation by:
✔ Creating a platform for meaningful discussions
✔ Connecting entrepreneurs with funding and key stakeholders
✔ Providing investors access to high-potential ventures
✔ Encouraging policymakers to engage with the private sector

By bridging these critical connections, DICE is actively shaping Africa’s digital future and enabling long-term business success.

Beyond Limits: Supporting African Entrepreneurs

Beyond Limits continues to support African businesses through:

Beyond Limits Fellowship for Founders – Offers mentorship, training, and access to funding for startups.

Leadership Training & Masterclasses – Equips business leaders with essential skills for scaling success.

Global Immersion Programme – Connects African entrepreneurs with global innovation hubs to learn from world-class industry leaders.

“Our initiatives ensure that African businesses have the resources and connections to compete globally,” Ehimuan says.

The Long-Term Vision of DICE

DICE’s mission is clear: empower Africa’s digital economy by fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth.

“We want to position Africa as a global leader in digital innovation and creative excellence,” says Ehimuan. “DICE 3.0 is a step forward in this journey, equipping businesses with the tools, insights, and partnerships needed to scale successfully.”

With DICE, African businesses won’t just keep pace with global innovation—they will actively shape the future of business and technology.
