The government of Abia State has unveiled plans for an upcoming international summit aimed at expanding economic collaboration with Turkey and attracting global investors to the region.
Scheduled to take place from November 25 to 27, the Turkey-Abia Investment and Trade Exhibition is designed to highlight Abia’s investment potential and foster cross-border partnerships that can drive long-term growth and job creation.
The initiative, according to the state’s investment office, will serve as a strategic platform to showcase Abia’s advantages as a rising industrial hub in Nigeria and the broader African market. The focus will be on high-impact sectors such as agriculture, energy, solid minerals, textiles, footwear, and manufacturing.
Officials emphasized that the summit will offer both foreign and domestic investors a closer look at Abia’s diverse economic landscape, while promoting sustainable, export-oriented ventures. The event also aims to bolster Abia’s global profile as a destination for industrial development.
Central to the summit’s mission is the deepening of trade ties between Abia and Turkish business stakeholders. With Turkey’s growing presence in African markets and a strong reputation among Nigerian consumers, organizers are optimistic about attracting high-level partnerships.
Beyond bilateral ties, the event will also explore opportunities for inter-state collaboration within Nigeria, enabling Abia to co-develop broader investment projects with other regions to attract larger-scale international funding.
Leaders from Abia’s investment team have reaffirmed their commitment to building a business-friendly environment rooted in transparency, innovation, and global engagement, describing the summit as a step toward redefining the state’s economic future.
