Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is set to lead a distinguished lineup of public and private sector leaders at the 2020 Annual Directors’ Conference organized by the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria. The conference, themed “Business Ethics, Leadership & Sustainability as New Frontiers of Corporate Governance,” will run virtually from November 3 to 4, in response to COVID-19-related safety restrictions.
The event, as revealed by IoD Nigeria’s Director General, Mr. Bamidele Alimi, will also feature Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, as the special guest at the “Business Meets Government Forum,” while the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adeniyi Adebayo, will serve as the guest of honour.
IoD President and Governing Council Chairman, Mr. Chris Okunowo, described the conference as a timely platform for stakeholders to explore the evolving dimensions of corporate governance in a world shaped by unprecedented political, social, and business shifts.
“The event will offer deep reflections on leadership, ethics, and sustainability, especially in light of current global and local challenges,” Okunowo noted.
Mr. Lamis Dikko, Chairman of the Conference Organising Committee, disclosed that the keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Marc Menestrel, a renowned Professor of Decision Sciences at INSEAD Business School, Fontainebleau, France.

The plenary sessions are set to tackle pressing issues in corporate governance. Awosika will lead discussions on “The Nexus Between Ethical Leadership and Corporate Governance Practice,” while Danbatta will present a public sector viewpoint on “Ethical Leadership as a Pillar for National Sustainability in a Post-Oil Economy.”
