Pan Ocean CFO to Spotlight Nigeria’s Private Energy Drive at AEW 2025
Seyi Oladapo, Group Chief Financial Officer of Pan Ocean and the Newcross Companies, is set to join key industry leaders at African Energy Week (AEW) 2025, the continent’s foremost energy summit in Cape Town. His presence marks a significant addition to the event, bringing attention to the role of indigenous private energy firms in advancing Africa’s upstream oil and gas growth.
Pan Ocean, one of Nigeria’s longest-standing private oil companies, is expanding aggressively. With a focus on innovation, the company is integrating aerial drones and ultrasonic meters to boost asset security and is currently implementing a bold well-drilling campaign. These efforts align with Nigeria’s national objective of producing 2 million barrels of oil per day by 2025 and ending gas flaring by 2030.
Working alongside its sister company, Newcross, Pan Ocean is currently drilling in OML 24. The project is projected to deliver an additional 1,500 barrels of oil and four million standard cubic feet of gas daily. In a recent milestone, the company commissioned a vapor recovery unit compressor to divert gas into a processing plant, reducing flaring and enhancing operational efficiency.
Oladapo’s participation in AEW 2025 is expected to shed light on how strategic financial planning is helping Pan Ocean scale operations, mitigate risk, and forge key partnerships in an evolving African energy landscape.
According to AEW Program Director, Ore Onagbesan, “Pan Ocean and Newcross showcase the impact of local leadership in Nigeria’s energy sector. Their AEW 2025 involvement reflects Africa’s move toward self-sustaining, globally competitive energy enterprises.”
This development reinforces the pivotal role of Nigeria’s private sector in building upstream capacity, attracting investment, and driving regional energy transformation through local innovation and sustainable infrastructure.
