Nigeria is set to make a powerful impression at the World Gas Conference (WGC) 2025, with a high-level delegation of government officials and industry leaders poised to represent the nation’s gas sector on the global stage.
Leading the delegation is Dr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), who will not only represent Nigeria but also contribute as a distinguished speaker among global energy leaders. The WGC, held every three years, is the largest international gathering of gas experts, investors, and policymakers.
Joining Dr. Ekpo are key figures from Nigeria’s energy sector including:

This strong delegation underlines Nigeria’s strategic goal of becoming a key player in the global energy transition, using its vast gas reserves as a cornerstone for economic transformation.
Promoting Investment and Collaboration
A host of top-tier industry players—NLNG, Shell Nigeria, Axxela, ND Western, Aradel Plc, Aiteo, First E&P, Xenergi, Tetracore, Neconde Energy, Shoreline, ENTEC Power, Peiyang Chemical Engineering Service Corp. (PCCS), and Oando—will also be present to support the NGA’s efforts.
These companies, in partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, NNPC Ltd, and other stakeholders in the gas value chain, will converge at the Nigerian Pavilion. This dedicated space will spotlight Nigeria’s gas potential, highlight policy reforms, and promote investment opportunities in the sector.
Elevating Nigeria’s Global Energy Profile
NGA President Akachukwu Nwokedi described Nigeria’s presence at WGC 2025 as a “strategic convergence” of government and industry.
“This is more than just an event—it’s a declaration of Africa’s energy renaissance. With unified support from both public and private sectors, we are showcasing Nigeria as a reliable and future-ready energy partner,” he stated.
The participation of such a broad coalition of stakeholders signifies a shared commitment to redefining Nigeria’s energy future and amplifying its voice in the global energy dialogue.
