Ibadan, Oyo State – The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) will host the second edition of its Tourism and Retreat Roundtable from May 9 to 11, 2025, at De-Signature Hotels, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Themed “Repositioning Nigeria’s Tourism and Hospitality Sectors: From Seasonal Hype to Sustainable Prosperity,” this year’s Roundtable seeks to build on the success of the inaugural retreat, which took place in Abeokuta, Ogun State, in October 2024. The 2024 event featured prominent speakers, including the Ogun State Commissioner for Tourism, who delivered the keynote address.

The 2025 event will bring together leaders, innovators, and experts from various sectors, including tourism, business, and law. The Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, will deliver the keynote address. Additionally, attendees will engage in panel discussions with industry thought leaders such as Olatunde Busari, SAN, Enitan Rewane, Nnenna M.T. Fakoya-Smith, and Ajibola Ogunkeyede.

Pamilerin Akabunwa, Chairperson of the Planning Committee, commented on the theme: “This year’s theme strikes a chord with stakeholders across the tourism and hospitality landscape. It is time for Nigeria’s tourism sector to evolve from the seasonal ‘Detty December’ craze to a sustainable, year-round engine for economic growth and prosperity.”
