MTN Foundation is expanding its flagship ICT and Business Skills Training initiative, announcing plans to equip 6,000 young entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners across seven states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with vital digital and entrepreneurial skills.
The programme, now in its seventh edition, is open to Nigerians aged 18–35 who run micro businesses under two years old or have a keen interest in entrepreneurship and digital transformation. Selected participants from Abuja, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Enugu, Ondo, Plateau, Sokoto, and Taraba will undergo intensive training designed to strengthen their business capacity and prepare them for growth.
Odunayo Sanya, Executive Director of MTN Foundation, emphasized the organisation’s commitment to empowering young people: “We believe Nigeria’s youth hold the key to innovation and transformation. This initiative ensures they have access to skills, tools, and resources that help them thrive while impacting their communities. It is part of our broader commitment to nation-building.”
Since its inception in 2018, the training has reached 9,384 entrepreneurs across 22 states, with 500 receiving equipment grants to scale their ventures. In this new phase, after a four-week application period, 6,000 participants will be selected for blended learning—combining self-paced modules, instructor-led sessions, and Masterclasses with industry leaders. The best 600 will also benefit from post-training support and share equipment grants worth up to ₦300 million.
Through this initiative, MTN Foundation is not only advancing digital inclusion but also building a pipeline of resilient, youth-led businesses that can drive innovation, create jobs, and boost Nigeria’s economic growth.
