A new season of The Next Titan Nigeria has been launched, setting the stage for 20 young innovators to compete in weekly business challenges across Lagos over the next 10 weeks.
At the unveiling of Season 10, themed “The Unconventional,” the show’s creator and executive producer, Mide Akinlaja, described the programme as more than just television entertainment. He emphasized that it serves as a platform to shape young Nigerians into business leaders capable of generating ideas, jobs, and long-term value for the country.
According to him, the series is designed to nurture participants through intensive tasks, mentorship sessions, and boardroom deliberations, eventually providing funding support to the most outstanding contestant. “The show does more than entertain; it changes lives by redirecting mindsets from seeking jobs to creating them,” he explained.
Season 10 marks the reality show’s 10th anniversary and will award ₦50 million in total prizes. The overall winner will walk away with ₦40 million, while the first, second, and third runners-up will receive ₦5 million, ₦3 million, and ₦2 million respectively.
Auditions were conducted in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Lagos, and online, before narrowing down to 50 candidates at bootcamp. From there, the top 20 finalists were selected to enter the televised competition, which will feature weekly eliminations in the Titan boardroom. Nigerian business leaders serving as judges will mentor the contestants and inspire viewers nationwide.
Speaking on behalf of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, praised the initiative. He noted that Lagos, as a hub of commerce, supports ventures like The Next Titan because they foster innovation, create opportunities, and strengthen the economy.
