Reaffirming its dedication to empowering Nigerian youth and fostering long-term economic sustainability, International Breweries Plc has officially launched the 2025 edition of its flagship Kickstart Initiative — a decade-strong program designed to ignite youth entrepreneurship across the country.
Celebrating its 10th year, the initiative remains rooted in its mission to equip ambitious young Nigerians with the tools, funding, and mentorship required to turn small ideas into thriving enterprises.
Dr. Peter Bamkole, Chairman of the Advisory Board at the International Breweries Foundation, emphasized the importance of youth-led innovation in shaping the nation’s future.
“We believe Nigeria’s economic transformation lies with its young entrepreneurs,” he said. “This program helps reduce unemployment while supporting inclusive growth. We’re seeking resilient, purpose-driven individuals ready to scale businesses in agriculture, recycling, renewable energy, and more.”
The Kickstart Initiative focuses on sectors critical to Nigeria’s development, including agriculture (with emphasis on rice, maize, and sorghum), circular economy, retail, recycling, and renewable energy.
Temitope Oguntokun, Corporate Affairs and Regulatory Director at IBPLC, described this year’s initiative as a powerful vehicle for building a robust entrepreneurial landscape.
“Many of our past beneficiaries have evolved into job creators. We’re excited to welcome the next wave of changemakers in 2025,” she said.
This year’s edition is structured as an immersive entrepreneurial journey. It begins with a competitive screening process, followed by virtual training sessions in core business disciplines conducted in collaboration with the Enterprise Development Centre of Pan-Atlantic University.
Selected candidates will then participate in a hands-on business boot camp facilitated by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), where they’ll sharpen their skills through practical learning.
The program culminates in a Pitch-Fest, where finalists will present their ventures before a panel of expert judges for a chance to win grant funding, long-term mentorship, and access to an exclusive Kickstart alumni network.
Through this initiative, International Breweries Plc continues to build a legacy of economic empowerment, ensuring that Nigeria’s youth are not just prepared for the future—but equipped to lead it.
