First City Monument Bank (FCMB) is supporting entrepreneurial growth across Nigeria through its Business Empowerment Sustainability and Training (BEST) masterclass program.
The initiative spans the Southeast, South-South, and parts of Northern Nigeria, equipping start-ups and existing entrepreneurs with essential skills to expand and sustain their businesses.
Building on its impact, the next phase of the BEST masterclass is set to take place from March 12 to 21 in Ogun, Oyo, Kwara, Osun, and Ondo states. Participants will receive training on key aspects of business management to enhance their competitiveness and long-term viability.
The program includes interactive workshops led by experienced industry professionals and business leaders. Attendees will also have opportunities for networking and mentorship.
FCMB’s Managing Director, Yemisi Edun, emphasized the importance of fostering sustainable business success in Nigerian communities by addressing entrepreneurial challenges. She noted that empowering businesses drives innovation, job creation, and economic development.
The masterclass covers financial literacy, digital marketing, operational efficiency, sustainable business practices, and strategic planning. Participants will also engage in knowledge-sharing sessions to navigate business challenges and seize growth opportunities.
George Ogbonnaya, Divisional Head and Senior Vice President of Business Banking at FCMB, highlighted the program’s role in strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He stated that the initiative aims to bridge capacity gaps, improve market access, and offer financial solutions tailored to entrepreneurs in the participating states.
Since its launch in 2018, the BEST masterclass has trained and supported over 44,278 entrepreneurs, reinforcing its commitment to business development and economic progress in Nigeria.
