An esteemed group of experts is set to speak at a management consulting conference scheduled for October 16–17 at the Sheraton Hotel, Lagos. The event is convened by Lewis Partners Consulting (LPC) in collaboration with the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria (IMCON), established in 1979 by the Centre for Management Development (CMD) — the federal agency responsible for regulating and developing management consulting practices in Nigeria.
Prof. Epiphany Azinge will chair the conference, with notable speakers including Dr. Tunde Adekola (World Bank Specialist), Dr. Nosike Agokei (Governance Professional), Mrs. Kemi Ogunmefun (Board Member, Access Bank), Mrs. Ayo Olojede (Group Head, Emerging Business, Access Bank), Mr. Benson Uwheru (Partner, Business Advisory, Ernst & Young), and Mr. Paul Ayim (Phillip Consulting), among others.
The conference theme, “The Evolving Economy: The Role of Management Consulting in the Public and Private Sector,” will focus on setting standards and best practices to professionalize management consulting in Nigeria. Discussions will address strategies, innovation, and benchmarking against international best practices to meet global demands.
Mrs. Jacqueline Odiadi, the conference publicist, explained the motivation behind the event, noting the sector’s current challenges: “The management consulting profession in Nigeria suffers from a lack of depth and skewed understanding, with many ‘briefcase’ or ‘shadow consultants’ operating across sectors. This conference aims to bring stakeholders together to brainstorm on elevating and advancing the profession.”
