A Nigerian cleric has argued that the nation’s future depends more on the vision and innovation of entrepreneurs than on the influence of political leaders.
Speaking during a three-day programme in Abuja titled “The Manifest Power of the Ancient Lion King”, the head of the Locust Army International Church emphasised that those who build businesses create real value that drives economic growth, while many politicians are more focused on misusing public resources. The event also marked the inauguration of the church’s branch in Apo, led by Reverend Victor Mark.
He told participants that holding a political position does not guarantee enduring relevance, noting that what truly matters is the vision, skills, and substance a person carries. According to him, the prestige of public office fades once a term ends, leaving many former leaders to return to ordinary life.
He pointed out that senators, presidents, and other political figures eventually relinquish their positions, regardless of how long they hold them. “The destiny of Nigeria is not shaped by politicians. Too often, they are part of the problem. Our future lies with entrepreneurs who have the capacity to generate wealth and opportunities, not those who take from the system,” he said.
The cleric stressed that economic contribution, rather than political power, determines a person’s lasting impact. “The true destiny of mankind is rooted in economic leadership. God is seeking men and women with enough light to take the lead,” he remarked.
He further disclosed what he described as a divine mandate to mentor and develop 1,000 of the wealthiest individuals in Nigeria and across Africa—entrepreneurs whose success, he claimed, would exceed that of today’s highest earners.
