As Nigeria navigates a rapidly evolving economic and corporate landscape, the Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD) Nigeria is positioning its upcoming 2025 Annual Directors’ Conference (ADC) as a critical platform for redefining leadership and strengthening national governance.
Set to take place in Abuja later this month, the conference will explore the theme “Leading Through Change: Building Sustainable and Inclusive Enterprises.” More than just a gathering, it represents a call to action — uniting directors, policymakers, regulators, and innovators to rethink how institutions can thrive amid uncertainty.
Adetunji Oyebanji, President and Chairman of the CIoD Governing Council, described the event as the heart of the Institute’s mission to shape the country’s leadership culture.
“Periods of transformation challenge us to evolve,” he said. “But they also give us the opportunity to create stronger, more relevant institutions that reflect the realities of the world we serve.”
The conference will spotlight how effective leadership can drive both corporate growth and national development, encouraging directors to align profitability with purpose.
Bimbo Ashiru, Chairman of the National Organising Committee, noted that this year’s discussions will focus on sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity — values essential for steering enterprises through change.
“We are challenging leaders to adapt, inspire, and build systems that outlast them. That’s how we contribute to nation-building,” he stated.
The 2025 edition promises a distinguished lineup of leaders and experts, including President Bola Tinubu, Conference Chairman Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman, and Keynote Speaker Mr. Kola Adesina, Group Managing Director of Sahara Power Group.
