Entrepreneur, writer, and IT consultant Solomon Lagoke has stepped into the entertainment arena with the launch of Bloom Recordz, a new music label designed to spotlight emerging talent and fuel creativity within Nigeria’s vibrant cultural scene.
Raised in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, Lagoke credits his upbringing and family values as the foundation of his vision. “I had a normal childhood, but the influence of my mother and extended family shaped my outlook,” he shared. Though his career began in technology and publishing, music remained a constant passion. “This label is my way of giving gifted artists the chance to flourish,” he explained.
The idea for Bloom Recordz has been in the works for nearly four years. What started as a casual suggestion from a friend eventually evolved into a serious mission. “Bloom symbolizes growth and the beauty of music,” Lagoke said, underscoring the label’s commitment to nurturing artistry.
Building a Global Platform
Lagoke envisions Bloom Recordz as more than a local brand. His goal is to create a modern, international hub for diverse voices. The label will focus on discovering talent, guiding artist development, and leveraging digital tools such as social media, streaming services, and online campaigns to amplify reach.
For Lagoke, successful partnerships between artists and labels hinge on transparency and collaboration. “Respect, communication, and shared goals are essential,” he emphasized.
Establishing Structure
To ensure fairness and professionalism, Bloom Recordz is assembling a team of producers, marketers, A&R specialists, and legal advisers. The aim is to provide artists with clear contracts, career guidance, and long‑term support. While the label has yet to announce its first signees, discussions are underway with several promising acts. “We’re searching for distinctive sounds and voices,” Lagoke revealed.
Looking Ahead
Within five years, Lagoke hopes Bloom Recordz will stand among Africa’s leading independent labels, recognized for ethical practices and its role in discovering top talent. Beyond business success, he sees the imprint as a contribution to the broader growth of Nigerian and African music. “I want to leave behind a legacy of empowerment and diversity in sound,” he said.
Connecting with Bloom Recordz
The label has opened its doors to artists, fans, and collaborators through multiple channels, including Instagram (@solomonbooklibrary) and X (@solomonlagok).
Closing his remarks, Lagoke offered advice to aspiring creatives: “Stay true to your craft and keep improving. The industry is demanding, but passion and perseverance always shine through.”
