In a bold stride towards empowering the nation’s youth and promoting economic equity, the All Progressives Congress (APC), through its Youth Wing, is rolling out a dynamic new initiative known as the Enterprise-Skills Development Training (EDET) Programme.
This five-day intensive boot camp is geared toward equipping over a thousand aspiring young business owners with the practical knowledge and strategic insight needed to launch, expand, and innovate within Nigeria’s diverse economic sectors. The event is set to feature high-profile personalities, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, adding weight to the programme’s credibility.
Dr. Dayo Israel, APC’s National Youth Leader, emphasized that EDET is more than just a training workshop—it’s a launchpad for youth-led innovation and entrepreneurship. Participants will benefit from one-on-one mentoring, access to funding avenues, and an all-encompassing resource toolkit designed to support businesses from concept to execution.
Key attractions of the programme include a business pitch contest where the top idea will receive $5,000 in startup capital, as well as engaging sessions with successful industry leaders who will share actionable insights from their journeys.
EDET’s overarching mission is to cultivate a thriving network of forward-thinking young entrepreneurs who can drive sustainable economic growth, spark job creation, and reshape Nigeria’s commercial ecosystem across sectors such as tech, agriculture, the arts, and beyond.
Importantly, the programme welcomes all Nigerian youth, irrespective of political views or geographical location, and participation is entirely free of charge.
