Afri Invoice, the first invoicing SaaS platform designed by Africans for African businesses, is officially launching this month to empower local entrepreneurs ahead of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) July 2025 e-invoicing deadline.

Founded by British-Nigerian serial entrepreneur Mark Odenore, the platform is built to simplify digital invoicing, tax compliance, and secure payment tracking, offering a tailored, scalable solution for African SMEs navigating a rapidly digitizing economy.

“We’re not just witnessing the future of African tech—we’re building it,” said Odenore. “Afri Invoice solves real problems with practical, accessible tools made specifically for our people and our businesses.”

Designed for the Digital Shift

With Nigeria’s FIRS set to begin mandatory e-invoicing enforcement from July 25, 2025, Afri Invoice provides a timely solution for SMEs seeking to avoid penalties and gain a competitive edge.

By combining a smart credit control system, real-time compliance tools, and locally based 24/7 support, the platform offers a comprehensive toolkit that goes beyond traditional invoicing software.

Key Features and Innovations

 Smart Credit Control

  • Tracks unpaid invoices and detects risky patterns

  • Sends automated reminders to increase recovery rates

  • Flags high-risk customers early

  • Supports multiple currencies and mobile payments

 Penalty Prevention System

  • Real-time detection of rejected invoices

  • Auto-retry functions and alert system

  • Monthly compliance reports to aid transparency

 Seamless FIRS Compliance

  • Generates invoices using FIRS-approved tax codes

  • Compliant with July 2025 e-invoicing regulations

  • Always updated to reflect local legal requirements

 Always-On Support

  • Nigerian-based support via chat, WhatsApp, and email

  • Locally fluent team providing personalized assistance

Born from Experience, Built for Africa

Mark Odenore’s entrepreneurial journey began in Nigeria, where he ran small businesses using handwritten records. After relocating to the UK and launching several multimillion-pound ventures—including Midwest Services, Pick N Drop, and Sub Contract Market—Odenore returned to solve a persistent challenge: Africa’s lack of fit-for-purpose financial tools.

“I knew there had to be a better way—and when I couldn’t find one, I built it,” he said.

Why Afri Invoice Stands Out

Unlike generic global platforms, Afri Invoice is built on microservices architecture, making it modular, secure, and scalable. The software is tailored to local realities—like variable internet access, regulatory ambiguity, and reliance on mobile money—ensuring usability and resilience in challenging environments.

“Afri Invoice is not just software. It’s a movement toward digital empowerment for African entrepreneurs,” Odenore added.

First-Mover Advantage Before Enforcement Hits

As the FIRS begins with large enterprises before targeting SMEs, early adoption positions Afri Invoice users ahead of the curve.

“While competitors scramble to adapt, our users will already be compliant and focused on growth,” said Odenore. “We’re turning tax regulation into a strategic advantage.”

About Afri Invoice

Afri Invoice is a purpose-built fintech platform designed for Africa’s fast-growing SME sector. With robust security, intelligent automation, and full compliance features, it empowers business owners to invoice smarter, scale faster, and stay compliant.

About Mark Odenore

Mark Odenore is a UK-based Nigerian entrepreneur whose ventures have generated over £20 million in revenue. With a career spanning Nigeria, the UK, and the US, he brings a rare combination of local insight and global execution to solving Africa’s digital infrastructure gaps.

Afri Invoice is more than a platform—it’s a statement that African entrepreneurs deserve world-class tools tailored to their reality.
