Nigeria’s digital economy push has received another boost as the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) formally threw its weight behind the 5th edition of the Women Entrepreneurs and Executives in Tech Summit (WEETS), a platform dedicated to strengthening women’s role in the country’s fast-evolving tech ecosystem.
Slated for 2025, the summit will run under the theme: “IDEA TO IMPACT: Scaling Your Tech Journey & Building Entrepreneurship.” Organizers say this year’s focus reflects the urgent need to equip women with the tools, networks, and confidence required to transform bold ideas into enterprises that create measurable impact.
Unlike previous editions, this year’s program will unfold in two distinct phases. The morning session will feature keynote speeches, strategy-driven panel discussions, and workshops led by innovators, investors, and policymakers. Later in the evening, attention will shift to a celebratory awards gala and book launch honoring women whose leadership and creativity are redefining the boundaries of Nigeria’s tech and entrepreneurial space.
The NCC endorsement, alongside support from partners such as Medallion Data Centre, Zoracom, Wema Bank, and the NDPC, signals strong cross-industry commitment to fostering inclusion, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Organizers of WEETS described the NCC’s involvement as a powerful validation of the summit’s mission. “With institutions like the NCC backing this initiative, we are not just highlighting women’s achievements in technology; we are building a sustainable pipeline of innovators and leaders for Nigeria’s digital future,” they said.
Over the past five years, WEETS has evolved from a niche event into a flagship platform for capacity building, visibility, and recognition. It continues to serve as a meeting point where women can learn, connect, and gain visibility, while amplifying the transformative stories of female trailblazers across Nigeria and beyond.
