Nigeria is strategically aligning with the Nordic innovation ecosystem to spark a new wave of growth for its startup sector, with goals of unlocking capital, expanding market reach, and fostering cross-border knowledge sharing.
At the heart of this initiative is Lagos Slush’D 2025, a dynamic startup event modeled after the renowned Nordic innovation platform. The event is designed to spotlight Nigeria’s rapidly evolving entrepreneurial landscape, showcasing the tenacity, creativity, and ambition that define Nigerian startup founders.
The conference also serves as a bridge between Nigeria and the innovation powerhouses of the Nordic region—Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland. These countries are celebrated globally for their commitment to sustainable practices, high-impact entrepreneurship, and pioneering technological solutions.
“Our focus is on strengthening the Nigeria-Nordic alliance,” explained Kolawole Okuboyejo, Director and Licensee of Lagos Slush’D. “By drawing inspiration from the Nordics’ excellence in clean technology, sustainability, and impact-focused investing, we can harness Nigeria’s energetic and opportunity-filled ecosystem to create meaningful change.”
Set to kick off this Thursday in Lagos, the conference promises to be more than just a networking event. It will provide a collaborative space for startups, investors, corporations, accelerators, and policymakers to forge valuable partnerships. The ultimate goal is to create pathways for access to funding, new markets, and shared expertise.
Okuboyejo emphasized that inclusive and scalable innovation will be at the core of discussions, with a focus on solutions for Africa’s most pressing issues—such as food security, digital connectivity, climate resilience, and affordable healthcare.
He added, “This event is about building lasting connections between ecosystems that share a belief in entrepreneurship as a vehicle for societal transformation and economic advancement.”
