The 2025 editions of WHX Lagos and WHX Labs Lagos have officially wrapped up, leaving a transformative imprint on the healthcare landscape across West Africa. Held at the Landmark Centre in Lagos, the three-day gathering united thousands of healthcare professionals, innovators, policymakers, and investors under one roof.
Now in its 12th edition and formerly known as Medic West Africa and Medlab West Africa, the rebranded WHX platform showcased its evolution into West Africa’s most influential healthcare and diagnostics hub. This year’s event brought together over 8,000 visitors and around 500 exhibitors from across the continent and beyond, all committed to reshaping healthcare systems through innovation, collaboration, and investment.
Attendees explored cutting-edge advancements in medical diagnostics, imaging, pharmaceuticals, and digital health solutions powered by artificial intelligence. The event spotlighted urgent healthcare challenges in the region, while offering practical solutions that aim to build more resilient and inclusive systems.
Among the distinguished guests were top healthcare leaders including Senator Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, Professor Akin Abayomi (Lagos State Commissioner for Health), Dr. Iziaq Salako (Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare), Njide Ndilii of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria, and Professor Christian Happi, a leading expert in molecular biology and genomics.
In her opening remarks, Senator Banigo emphasized the importance of merging public and private efforts to create long-lasting health reforms. She praised WHX for serving as a strategic platform for investment and dialogue that promotes actionable outcomes.
Professor Abayomi echoed this sentiment, highlighting WHX as a key fixture on Lagos State’s healthcare calendar. He underscored the importance of such initiatives in advancing inclusive, high-impact healthcare systems through cross-sector partnerships.
Tom Coleman, Senior Exhibition Director at Informa Markets, described the 2025 event as a milestone in the platform’s journey. He noted that WHX has evolved from a regional gathering into a dynamic engine for healthcare transformation in Africa. With hundreds of exhibitors and a broad spectrum of participants, this year’s exhibition floor served as a vibrant marketplace for knowledge, innovation, and enterprise.
Participants had access to a wide array of exhibitors showcasing the latest medical technologies and services, including global leaders like Siemens Healthineers, GE Healthcare, Roche, Dedalus, Uni-Medical, and Crown Healthcare. Numerous new business partnerships and agreements were launched on-site, solidifying WHX’s role as a catalyst for growth and innovation.
