Nigerian entrepreneurs got a major boost as the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN Nigeria) and Keystone Bank Limited joined forces to champion business owners and call for a more dynamic business climate during the 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW).
From Lagos to Abuja, the “EDC Walk for Entrepreneurship” wasn’t just another event—it was a rallying cry for innovation, creativity, and resilience. Dr. Nenna Ugwu, EDC’s Head of Alumni Relations and Support Services, captured the mood: “Without entrepreneurship, there’s no life. We walk, drink, eat, and think entrepreneurship.” For nearly two decades, GEW has taken over the third week of November to celebrate everything bold and new in business.
This year’s celebration stood out for its focus on sustainability and game-changing ideas. Ugwu highlighted how GEW 2025 is all about moving forward, embracing tough times, and finding new ways to do business in a rapidly changing world.
Keystone Bank’s Martins Kelechi Ojiegbe made it clear: “We’re here to create awareness, spark more entrepreneurs, and help businesses of all sizes grow and thrive.” He emphasized the power of partnership between Keystone Bank and the EDC in pushing SMEs to new heights and keeping businesses strong for the long haul.
Olayemi Sule, Group Head of Retail & Digital Banking, promised that Keystone Bank would keep backing entrepreneurs every step of the way. “We’ve got products to help you grow, and we’re in this together,” Sule said.
With collaboration, energy, and a shared vision, GEN Nigeria and Keystone Bank lit up GEW 2025—proving that Nigeria’s entrepreneurial future is brighter than ever.
