Nigeria’s digital economy received a major boost on Saturday as Arigo Technologies introduced seven groundbreaking platforms aimed at proving that Africa can be more than a consumer of global innovations — it can be a creator and trailblazer.
At the Lagos launch event, Dr. Arinze Madueke, founder of the company, said the platforms were specifically designed to tackle Africa’s unique social and economic challenges while showcasing the continent’s ability to lead in global technological transformation.
“We are not just releasing apps. These are solutions that open up jobs, empower small businesses, connect talents, and demonstrate that Africa can take the driver’s seat in global innovation,” Madueke explained.
While commending the Nigerian government for supporting the tech ecosystem, he urged deeper involvement in industry events and stronger policy frameworks to strengthen innovation and encourage startups.
He described the unveiling as the result of five years of research, testing, and sacrifice through the Arigo Innovation Lab, noting that some of the solutions were inspired by personal experiences. For example, CribsAndRides.com emerged after he was scammed by a fake land agent on his return to Nigeria, while FutbolConect.com was born from his journey as a football club owner struggling with gaps in talent discovery and transfer credibility.
Ralph George, a sports journalist who spoke at the launch, revealed that FutbolConect has already onboarded over 800 football clubs worldwide, with more than 35,000 players registered and player transfers worth ₦1.2 billion completed since its soft launch earlier this year. He added that the platform had recorded over 180,000 unique visits following its London pre-launch in May 2025.
The seven flagship platforms presented include:
-
MyArigo.com – a professional networking and business marketplace for African entrepreneurs.
-
FutbolConect.com – a global hub for football talent scouting and transfers.
-
Miamour.me – a digital space for marriage support and therapy services.
-
CribsAndRides.com – a marketplace for luxury real estate and automobiles.
-
Ijeuwa.com – a storytelling and reward platform.
-
EduGlobal.international – a blockchain-powered education portal.
-
Twy.app – an Agentic AI-driven productivity brand for businesses and individuals.
The gathering attracted stakeholders from finance, government, academia, sports, and entertainment, as well as FIFA-licensed agents and venture investors.
Madueke closed with a call to action for African innovators: “Keep building. The Arigo Innovation Hub is open to anyone with a dream that connects technology with real solutions.”
