Rep. Abdussamad Dasuki, the representative for Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency in Sokoto State, has launched a significant empowerment drive aimed at uplifting youth entrepreneurship and enhancing agricultural productivity across his constituency.
In the first phase of the initiative, 150 young small and medium enterprise (SME) owners each received ₦300,000 cash grants to grow and sustain their businesses. The event marking this milestone also saw the inauguration of a special committee responsible for managing the upcoming distribution of 900 livestock and farm tools to local farmers.
The distribution will be overseen by Dasuki’s Senior Legislative Assistants—Hon. Attahiru Danmadi and Hon. Adamu Haruna—who are dedicated to ensuring fair and efficient allocation throughout the constituency.
Additionally, 100 young people have been chosen to receive solar-powered charging stations, enabling them to start and operate mobile charging businesses within their communities, promoting sustainable energy use and income generation.
This second phase of distribution—covering livestock, agricultural equipment, and solar charging devices—is scheduled for next week, in collaboration with a government agency.
These initiatives reflect Rep. Dasuki’s steadfast commitment to fostering economic empowerment, rural development, and inclusive opportunities for youth to build sustainable livelihoods.
The beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the support, recognizing it as a vital boost to help them navigate current economic challenges and expand their enterprises.
Complementing these efforts, Dasuki’s wife, Hajiya Jamila Wada-Dasuki, recently launched an SME empowerment program specifically targeting businesswomen in the constituency. This program has empowered 400 women across all wards with a total of ₦10 million in cash grants, further driving inclusive growth in the region.
