President Bola Tinubu has signed the new National Minimum Wage Act of N70,000 into law.
The President signed the bill during a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) held on Monday at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and other members of the leadership of the National Assembly joined the FEC for the ceremony.
This is the first time since the beginning of the current democracy that the Council, presided over by the President, includes the leaders of the legislature and the meeting of the FEC and the Council Chamber. The invitation is reported for meetings are affected.
