Portland Gas, a key partner in the federal government’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) programme, has hailed the initiative as a transformative move for Nigeria’s transportation sector. At the launch of the Ride Share CNG Conversion Incentive Programme in Abuja, CEO Folajimi Mohammed emphasized the programme’s potential to drive a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
The Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGi) has paved the way for innovations that will reshape Nigeria’s transportation and energy landscape. The Ride Share CNG Conversion Incentive Programme offers substantial incentives for drivers to convert their vehicles to CNG, reducing emissions and fuel costs.
To facilitate the transition, Portland Gas introduced the MyCNG App, a user-friendly platform providing real-time information on CNG stations, fuel prices, and conversion centers. The company also launched a cutting-edge Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to ensure efficient management and seamless service delivery.
NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Khalil Halilu, highlighted the significance of the Pi-CNG initiative in Nigeria’s gas revolution, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in achieving milestones. The Conversion Incentive Programme offers a 50% discount to drivers who sign up and use the MY-CNG App, with the potential to reduce transportation costs by up to 70% and deliver 40% savings for car owners.
The launch of the MY-CNG App and Conversion Incentive Programme reflects NASENI’s commitment to leveraging technology to drive national transformation, fostering innovation, research, and development to support Nigeria’s industrial growth and economic sustainability.
