The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has announced a nationwide sensitisation tour, set to begin on June 23, aimed at fast-tracking reforms that improve the ease of doing business across Nigeria.
According to Zahrah Mustapha-Audu, PEBEC’s Director-General, the tour will include technical sessions and town hall meetings, creating interactive platforms where business owners, investors, and the public can engage directly with government officials. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to share challenges, suggest reforms, and collaborate on solutions to enhance Nigeria’s business climate.
“The goal is to foster a more conducive business environment that attracts investment and drives inclusive economic growth,” Mustapha-Audu stated.
Driving Reform Through Dialogue
This initiative underscores PEBEC’s mission to reduce red tape, eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks, and promote digital, transparent, and streamlined processes for business registration, licensing, and operation. The tour aims to deepen public-private collaboration and gather grassroots input on regulatory pain points, especially at the subnational level.
A Collaborative National Strategy
Formed in July 2016, PEBEC is tasked with removing bureaucratic and legislative barriers to doing business in Nigeria. The council works with state governments, private sector stakeholders, and international partners to ensure that reforms are felt not just in major cities but in all parts of the country.
“From simplified processes to digital innovations, we’re creating an environment where businesses can start, grow, and thrive with ease,” Mustapha-Audu emphasized.
The tour represents a strategic step in aligning Nigeria’s reform agenda with global best practices, while empowering local entrepreneurs and SMEs to operate with greater efficiency and confidence.
