The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at raising industry standards, reshaping Nigeria’s public perception, and restoring its global image.
The MoU, signed at NIMN’s Lagos headquarters, seeks to unify the standards of public relations and marketing in Nigeria. It aims to enhance the country’s reputation by adopting a more dynamic approach to marketing communications. The partnership also supports NIPR’s “Rebirth Initiative,” which focuses on shifting the national mindset towards a more positive brand perception of Nigeria.
“This MoU marks a significant milestone for Nigeria’s marketing communications industry,” said Mr. Idorenyen Enang, President of NIMN. “Our collaboration with NIPR reinforces NIMN’s commitment to building a unified foundation that encompasses marketing, advertising, public relations, and reputation management. Together, we are positioning ourselves to overcome industry challenges through a cohesive, holistic approach.”
Enang emphasized that the partnership would empower Nigerian professionals to elevate the country’s national brand on the global stage, bringing sustainable, positive impact. “We are witnessing the rebirth of an industry that will transform Nigeria’s global presence,” he added.
Dr. Ike Neliaku, President of NIPR, expressed that the collaboration would drive positive change and reshape Nigeria’s reputation. “This partnership reflects our shared goal to set higher standards for public relations and marketing in Nigeria. Through this MoU, we are laying the groundwork for a more forward-thinking, responsible sector capable of driving real societal change,” Neliaku stated.
He further explained the importance of the national rebirth initiative, emphasizing that Nigeria must reinvent its identity, uphold its integrity, and leverage its unique resources. “Nigeria’s reputation is at a pivotal moment, and this collaboration is key to restoring its image and strengthening its competitive advantage globally,” he said.
The partnership follows NIMN’s previous alliances with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK and the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), aimed at fostering synergy, advancing professional standards, and promoting continuous learning in the sector.
The signing ceremony was attended by council members and representatives from both institutes.
