Nigeria’s business community is gearing up for a landmark event as NextMoney, the flagship publication of the Centre for Financial Journalism Limited/Gte, prepares to unveil its list of the nation’s Top 100 Companies. The ceremony, which also doubles as the debut NextMoney Top 100 Companies Awards, is scheduled for October 3 at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This maiden edition, themed “Nigeria’s Top 100 Companies: Yesterday, Today and the Future,” will spotlight firms that have demonstrated exceptional strength and consistency in key areas of corporate performance.
Key industry leaders will headline the event, with Proshare Nigeria’s Chairman, Mr. Olufemi Awoyemi, delivering the keynote address, while Dr. Ije Jidenma, Chairman of the Nigeria–South Africa Chamber of Commerce and CEO of Leading Edge, presides as chairperson.
The NextMoney Top 100 Companies special issue—renowned as a trusted source of financial and economic intelligence—draws on hard data from audited financial reports. Companies are ranked on the basis of assets, revenue, profitability, market value, employee strength, and tax contributions.
Awards will be presented in categories such as:
-
Nigeria’s Largest Company
-
Most Profitable Company
-
Top Revenue Earner
-
Most Valuable Company
-
Largest Employer of Labour
-
Highest Tax Paying Company
In addition, sectoral champions will be recognised across banking, insurance, and manufacturing, with winners determined purely by measurable performance indicators.
Editor-in-Chief Dr. Ray Echebiri emphasised that the awards stand out for their transparency and objectivity. “What sets the NextMoney Companies Awards apart is that recognition is based entirely on verifiable corporate achievements, not subjective judgments,” he noted.
With its mix of celebration and rigorous benchmarking, the NextMoney Awards is set to become a definitive barometer of excellence in Nigeria’s corporate landscape.
