The MTN Foundation has opened applications for the sixth phase of its flagship ICT and Business Skills Training programme — a transformative initiative designed to empower Nigerian youths with the tools to thrive in today’s tech-driven business world.
Targeted at young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35, the programme offers a five-week virtual training packed with expert-led masterclasses from leading global industry players, including Microsoft and Meta.
This year’s edition focuses on small business owners who have been operating for less than two years in Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Kebbi, Niger, or Yobe states.
A Track Record of Impact
Since its inception in 2018, the MTN ICT and Business Skills Training has reached 16 states — from Lagos to Adamawa — equipping over 4,000 young people with digital and entrepreneurial expertise. Previous editions have been delivered in collaboration with renowned partners such as Oracle, KPMG, IBM, Digital Bridge Institute, CISCO, Google, and Microsoft.
For Phase 6, 3,000 youths will benefit from specialised sessions, including:
-
Microsoft: Training on Entrepreneurship in the Digital Age, ICT for Business Success, and Generative AI Skills.
-
Meta: Guidance on Building Brands and Growing Businesses Online through the Meta Boost for Small Business initiative.
Why It Matters
Participants will not only receive free internet data throughout the training but also stand a chance to benefit from a ₦90 million equipment grant, with the top 300 performers receiving resources to expand their businesses.
Applications are now open — giving aspiring entrepreneurs an opportunity to transform their business approach, embrace digital tools, and compete on a global scale.
