Lagos, Nigeria – In a powerful and landmark announcement at the Digital Creator Africa Summit/Africa Creative Market, media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo has pledged to invest £500,000 (approximately 1 billion Naira) of his personal funds into Nigerian and African creators, launching a new initiative called The FourthMainland Creators Fund.
The announcement came during Jideonwo’s keynote address titled “Overtaking Is Allowed,” where he passionately described the African creator economy as “the most important socio-economic revolution this continent has seen in a generation.”
Marking his 25th anniversary in the media industry, Jideonwo stated he has “never been more hopeful and certain about the future of Africa’s independent media,” identifying creators as the driving force behind this new era.
Scheduled to launch in January 2026, the FourthMainland Creators Fund aims to discover and nurture the next generation of African digital superstars. The initiative has an ambitious goal: to find “the next Mark Angel, the next Linda Ikeji, Africa’s Mr. Beast.”
The fund will be managed by Joy, Inc. under the leadership of its newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Jennifer Mairo. Mairo will also be tasked with building the FourthMainland “record label” of superstar creators, providing not just funding but also strategic support to help them achieve global success.
“I believe in this so deeply that I am putting my money where my mouth is,” Jideonwo declared, signaling a significant personal commitment to the growth of the continent’s digital creative space.
This move is set to dramatically boost the creator economy in Nigeria and across Africa, providing crucial financial backing and industry expertise to talented individuals ready to scale their influence.
