In a strategic move to boost its digital economy and solidify its place on the global tech map, Nigeria will host its first-ever GITEX Nigeria from September 1–4, 2025, in Abuja and Lagos.
Organized by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in partnership with KAOUN International, the landmark event is expected to welcome over 20,000 participants, including 1,000 startups and 100 investors, offering a powerful launchpad for Nigeria’s small and medium-sized tech enterprises to showcase innovations, attract investment, and expand internationally.

Themed “Forging the Rise of Digital Nigeria,” GITEX Nigeria 2025 will shine a spotlight on homegrown innovation across sectors like:
- Fintech
- Agritech

This dual-city event reflects the country’s tech-forward vision. Abuja will host high-level dialogues on government-led innovation and AI adoption, while Lagos will celebrate and connect the startup ecosystem, reinforcing its role as a tech investment magnet.
A Pillar for National Tech Growth
The initiative aligns with NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2024–2027) and supports President Tinubu’s 8-point agenda, focusing on digital economy expansion, tech entrepreneurship, and job creation.
According to Mr. Olawumi Oladejo, speaking on behalf of the NITDA Director General, “GITEX Nigeria will boost our global tech visibility, scale local businesses and tourism, and advance our national digital agenda.”
Dr. Aristotle Onumo, Director of Stakeholder Management and Partnerships at NITDA, added that six standout startups are targeted for global recognition within three years, with 78% of participants expecting to receive funding—a testament to the event’s high potential for early and growth-stage startups.
Three Pillars of the Event: Enablement, Engagement, and Knowledge
GITEX Nigeria 2025 will be built around three powerful pillars:
- Enablement: Equipping entrepreneurs with tools, infrastructure, and access.
- Engagement: Fostering partnerships between public, private, and international players.
- Knowledge: Driving education and innovation through workshops, panels, and showcases.
Positioning Nigeria as Africa’s Innovation Hub
With a growing talent pool, rising startup activity, and expanding investor interest, Nigeria is poised to lead Africa’s digital renaissance. GITEX Nigeria 2025 is more than just a tech expo—it is a springboard for transformation, empowerment, and global relevance.
By nurturing local ingenuity and bridging it with global capital and mentorship, the event is set to ignite a new wave of growth, not only for Nigeria but for Africa’s entire innovation ecosystem.
