The Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC) has announced the first-ever edition of its Sustainability ESG Conference, scheduled to take place on June 26, 2025, at The Art Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event marks a major milestone in Nigeria and Africa’s collective journey toward integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into the heart of institutional, national, and regional development strategies.
With the theme “Building a Prosperous Future: Unlocking Growth Opportunities Through Sustainability and ESG Innovation,” the conference is designed to ignite high-level discussions, foster strategic collaboration across sectors, and redefine ESG from a corporate checkbox to a transformative tool for long-term success and social impact.
The event is expected to bring together a diverse range of delegates, including representatives from government agencies, regulatory bodies, ESG professionals, corporations, development institutions, academia, and civil society organisations. These stakeholders will jointly explore how ESG integration can serve as a catalyst for inclusive economic growth, responsible governance, corporate accountability, and resilience amid evolving global and local challenges.
As the global focus shifts from whether to embrace sustainability to how rapidly and effectively it can be implemented, FITC’s initiative underscores Africa’s urgency to act. With growing pressure from climate change, inequality, and weak governance structures, the continent sits at a critical crossroads. The FITC ESG Conference aims to provide a platform for collective action, thought leadership, and policy shaping—positioning sustainability as an essential driver of Africa’s future prosperity.
By convening leaders and changemakers from across sectors, FITC is setting the stage for a bold new chapter in Nigeria’s sustainability journey—one that aligns economic performance with social and environmental responsibility.
