Dangote Petroleum Refinery has confirmed its strong capability to fulfill Nigeria’s nationwide demand for petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel, reassuring stakeholders of its uninterrupted supply.
In a statement from Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the refinery highlighted its operational readiness to load up to 2,900 trucks daily, along with additional distribution via sea. This showcases a robust infrastructure designed to sustain the country’s fuel requirements.
“We want to emphasize that we can meet the nation’s demand for all petroleum products, including petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel,” said the refinery. “Currently, we can load 2,900 trucks per day, and we are also evacuating petroleum products by sea.”
This announcement follows recent reports indicating that members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) faced challenges in accessing products from Dangote Refinery.
Clarifying these concerns, the refinery stated that it does not have any direct business arrangements with IPMAN. Payments reportedly made by the association have been directed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
Chiejina noted that there is ample supply available to meet IPMAN’s needs, provided that members register and establish a formal business relationship with the refinery. “We encourage IPMAN to register with us and make direct payments. We have more than enough petroleum products to satisfy their members’ needs,” he stated, emphasizing that such arrangements would facilitate smoother transactions and avoid complications.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery also reiterated that it has no direct business dealings or financial transactions with IPMAN.
“The Dangote Petroleum Refinery wishes to clarify that it has not received any payments from IPMAN for the purchase of refined petroleum products, despite ongoing discussions,” the company stated.
“It is misleading to suggest that IPMAN is experiencing difficulties loading refined products from our refinery, as we currently have no direct business relationship with them,” the statement added.
The refinery stressed that any payments referred to were made through the NNPC, asserting that “NNPCL has neither approved nor authorized us to release our Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to IPMAN.”
