Credo, the SME-focused payment platform by eTranzact, is strengthening its presence in southern Nigeria through a strategic grassroots campaign aimed at transforming how small businesses manage transactions.
As part of this push, the platform launched an on-the-ground activation in Port Harcourt, engaging traders and entrepreneurs in three key commercial zones: Garrison Computer Village, Rumukalagbor Market, and Rumuomasi Market. The campaign was executed in collaboration with Eligbam City, drawing hundreds of participants from the city’s informal business sector.
Many of these attendees were being introduced to digital financial tools for the first time. Through live demonstrations, one-on-one training, and hands-on support, the Credo team showcased how digital payment systems can replace cash, streamline operations, and build trust in daily transactions.
“This is more than a tech upgrade—it’s a mindset shift,” said Omokorede Amund, Product Marketing Manager at Credo by eTranzact. “We’re empowering entrepreneurs with the confidence and tools to grow in a digital-first economy.”
The outreach focused on practical challenges—such as transaction safety, recordkeeping, and end-of-day settlements—offering traders solutions that fit seamlessly into their everyday routines. Credo’s system enables both online and offline payments, while also providing analytics for sales tracking and business planning.
Meeting MSMEs Where They Are
This campaign reflects a broader shift in the fintech space—moving from digital-only marketing strategies to real-world engagements that meet business owners in their communities.
“Port Harcourt is a city full of ambition and entrepreneurial energy,” Amund added. “By coming into the markets, we could show how digital tools work in real time—and why they matter.”
To drive interest and participation, the campaign also featured a raffle draw, rewarding attendees with small business essentials like WiFi routers, cash gifts, and other operational tools. For many traders, this was their first meaningful encounter with digital finance tailored to their needs.
Digital Tools for the Everyday Hustler
Credo is designed with micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in mind. The platform offers a full suite of features, from instant payment acceptance and secure transaction processing to built-in analytics that help users monitor their growth.
Whether it’s a vendor at a bustling street market or a business looking to scale, Credo supports enterprises at every level—providing the flexibility and reliability they need to thrive in today’s fast-paced economy.
As Nigeria pushes forward with financial inclusion and digital transformation, initiatives like this underline the importance of grassroots engagement in unlocking the potential of the informal economy.
