Adeyemo Olufunke, a passionate educator, counselor, and social development advocate, is leading transformative initiatives that are improving lives across Nigeria. With a Master’s in Social Work and a B.Ed in Guidance and Counseling/Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan, her work spans education, health, agriculture, and entrepreneurship—driving sustainable development in both rural and urban communities.
One of her most impactful collaborations with Life Builders mobilized 500 women and youth in rural Nigeria to cultivate nutrient-rich crops like Moringa Oleifera, Ugwu, and other green vegetables. This initiative not only enhanced food security and nutrition but also created income-generating opportunities. Many participants expanded their farms or established small produce businesses, improving livelihoods at the grassroots level.
In a bid to combat youth unemployment and bolster food security, Adeyemo spearheaded a project in Ijeda/Iloko, Oriade LGA, Osun State, also in partnership with Life Builders and funded by the Osun State Employment Trust Fund. The program trained 100 out-of-school rural youth in food preservation and processing. The skills gained enabled many to launch small-scale enterprises and form cooperatives, contributing to economic development within their communities.
In Northern Nigeria, Adeyemo partnered with NYSC and UNICEF to provide life skills and moral education to over 500 girls in Pampe and Gingrii. This initiative empowered the young women with decision-making tools, fostering leadership and resilience in environments often marked by vulnerability.
Her contributions to public health education are equally noteworthy. Through extensive outreach, Adeyemo has trained over 7,000 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members on HIV awareness, sexual health, and safe practices. This work has significantly raised awareness among Nigerian youth and helped normalize conversations around health and prevention.
Adeyemo’s dedication to economic empowerment extends into entrepreneurship development. Supported by the Bank of Industry, she has conducted workshops and mentorship programs to help aspiring entrepreneurs create sustainable business models, access financing, and overcome the unique hurdles of the Nigerian market. Her efforts have led to the growth of numerous small businesses, generating employment and invigorating local economies.
Her agricultural leadership is further highlighted by the “Farm to Market” initiative, backed by the African Development Bank. This program introduced modern farming techniques and established direct market linkages for farmers in underserved communities, increasing productivity and boosting incomes through better access to consumers.
With an unwavering commitment to empowering others, Adeyemo Olufunke exemplifies how vision, education, and community-centered strategies can spark widespread, lasting change. Her initiatives are not only reshaping individual lives—they are building stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities across Nigeria.
