The Brand Journalists’ Association of Nigeria (BJAN) has elected Daniel Obi as its new Chairman, alongside other executives to lead the association forward.
Obi succeeds Clara Okoro and has pledged to strengthen the association while upholding the highest standards of brand journalism.
In his acceptance speech, Obi expressed gratitude to BJAN members for entrusting him with the leadership role. He highlighted the importance of unity, strong leadership, and collective action in achieving the association’s objectives.
Acknowledging the vital work of brand journalists in Nigeria, Obi praised their dedication in bringing stories to life, holding brands accountable, and amplifying voices that often go unheard.
He outlined his vision for BJAN, emphasizing a commitment to ethical journalism, investing in training and collaboration, and maintaining public trust. Obi called on members to unite and navigate the challenges posed by the rapidly evolving media landscape.
The new Chairman also thanked his predecessors and the past executive committees for their foundational work in building the association. He expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from brands and marketing communication professionals and encouraged them to continue partnering with BJAN.
