ABUJA — To mark the 2026 International Women’s Day, ASo Multi Media and its partners have announced the Her Excellence Conference and Awards, scheduled for March 8, 2026. The high-profile gathering aims to transition from a traditional ceremony into a robust platform for female leadership, networking, and policy dialogue across Nigeria.
The event’s centerpiece will be the recognition of 50 outstanding women selected from diverse economic sectors. These honorees are being celebrated for their transformative impact on national development, community building, and their roles as architects of social progress.
Restoring the Equilibrium
The 2026 theme, “Balance and Scales,” addresses the urgent need for equity in Nigeria’s decision-making spaces. Organizers emphasize that the “scales” represent a call for equilibrium across five critical pillars: governance, enterprise, family life, leadership, and community development.
According to Project Coordinator Amb. Kingsley Tolu Agboola, the initiative seeks to move beyond symbolic celebrations. “It is a platform for dialogue, empowerment, collaboration, and legacy-building,” Agboola stated. He noted that by documenting stories of resilience, the conference aims to build a permanent support network for women that lasts long after the final award is handed out.
A Convergence of Influence
The conference is expected to draw a powerful demographic of attendees, including:
-
Policymakers: Focusing on gender-inclusive legislation.
-
Business Executives: Discussing the “SARA” impact and corporate female advancement.
-
Creative Entrepreneurs: Highlighting the role of women in Nigeria’s “soft power” exports.
-
Youth Leaders: Aspiring professionals looking to gain mentorship from established icons.
Inspiring the Next Generation
A key objective of the March 8 event is to provide a “roadmap” for younger women entering the workforce. Through keynote speeches and panel sessions, the conference will highlight that female leadership is not just a moral imperative but a prerequisite for sustainable national growth.
By amplifying the success stories of the “Top 50,” the organizers hope to dismantle the systemic barriers that currently limit women’s participation in the higher tiers of Nigerian governance and industry.
