GTBank is Fueling Nigeria’s Entrepreneurial Revolution

In a country where economic uncertainty often overshadows opportunity, few institutions have dared to reshape the business climate as boldly as Guaranty Trust Bank Limited (GTBank). Strong Financial Performance

GTBank’s solid financial performance isn’t confined to profit margins. From December 2024 to March 2025:

  • Net loans grew by 15.6%, from ₦2.79 trillion to ₦3.22 trillion

  • Customer deposits increased by 7.7%, from ₦10.4 trillion to ₦11.2 trillion

  • Total assets reached ₦15.9 trillion, while shareholders’ funds stood at ₦3 trillion

  • Capital Adequacy Ratio remained robust at 34.6%

  • Cost of Risk dropped to 0.4%, a major improvement from 4.9%

  • Stage 3 (non-performing) loans decreased, reflecting better asset quality

These figures reflect not just stability, but a capacity to support economic growth sustainably.

Empowering the Informal Sector

Nigeria’s informal economy accounts for over 60% of GDP, yet it remains underserved by mainstream banks. GTBank is actively changing this dynamic through products like:

  • Quick Credit: A fast-access loan system that offers SMEs and individuals working capital without lengthy approval processes.

  • Habari: A multi-functional digital platform that merges e-commerce, lifestyle, entertainment, and banking, giving small businesses a space to operate without physical overheads.

These tools are designed to eliminate barriers to entry and help businesses scale more efficiently.

Beyond Banking: Platforms That Build

Unlike competitors that focus on elite events, GTBank has invested in platforms that directly support grassroots entrepreneurship. Its GTBank Fashion Weekend and Food and Drink Festival serve as launching pads for designers, chefs, and artisans. These initiatives offer:
