Fidelity Bank Plc is taking Nigeria’s international trade ambitions to a global stage with the 2025 edition of its Nigeria International Trade and Creative Connect (FNITCC), set to hold in Atlanta, United States, from September 18–20, 2025.
The three-day summit is expected to bring together over 3,000 participants — including investors, trade agencies, exporters, diaspora professionals, and policymakers — with a target of facilitating more than $500 million in trade and investment transactions.
Lagos State Leads the Charge
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will head Lagos State’s delegation, leveraging the forum to highlight Lagos as Africa’s largest economy while exploring partnership opportunities with Atlanta and the State of Georgia.
“Lagos is a city of enterprise, creativity, and boundless opportunity,” Fidelity Bank said in its statement. “FNITCC Atlanta is not only a platform to showcase Lagos but also to build bridges of trade, investment, and cultural exchange with partners in the United States.”
Positioning Nigerian Businesses for Global Markets
Fidelity Bank’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, emphasized that Lagos is uniquely placed to maximise the opportunities presented by FNITCC.
“As the largest economy on the continent, Lagos State is well-positioned to capitalise on the wide range of opportunities we are creating to ensure Nigerian products are effectively received within the global marketplace, especially in North America,” she said. “This aligns with our mission to help individuals grow, businesses thrive, and economies prosper.”
High-Level Engagements and Sector Showcases
The summit, hosted in collaboration with AFRICON, will feature:
-
Workshops, seminars, and panel discussions led by notable speakers such as Mustafa Chike-Obi (Chairman, Fidelity Bank), Aishah Ahmad (global finance leader and former Deputy Governor, CBN), Abba Bello (MD, Nigerian Export-Import Bank), and Olasunkanmi Owoyemi (CEO, Sunbeth Global Concepts).
-
Deal rooms and matchmaking sessions connecting U.S. buyers, investors, and Nigerian businesses.
-
Exhibitions spotlighting African excellence across agriculture, extractive industries, fashion, the creative economy, and professional services.
A Bridge for Trade and Diaspora Engagement
FNITCC Atlanta is designed not only as a trade expo but also as a strategic bridge between Nigeria, its diaspora, and global markets. By bringing Lagos and Nigeria’s broader creative and commercial sectors to the forefront, the initiative seeks to unlock new opportunities, strengthen bilateral ties, and accelerate Nigeria’s integration into global value chains.
