The AfricArena Lagos Fintech, Mobility, and Logistics Summit came to a successful conclusion at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria, marking a significant milestone in the growth of West Africa’s fintech, mobility, and logistics sectors. The event saw five start-ups and one investor emerge as the standout performers.
Organized in collaboration with AWS Startups, GIZ, Redington, VonTech Group, and Methys, the summit showcased the incredible potential of West Africa’s digital ecosystem, highlighting the region’s ability to nurture world-class talent.
Held alongside the 21st AVCA Conference and VC Summit, the AfricArena event gathered top global venture capitalists, industry leaders, and emerging start-ups for a full day of pitch sessions, networking, and discussions on strategic partnerships.
The summit’s Master of Ceremonies, Lady Kay, head of communication and social impact at Salad Africa, shared compelling technology success stories from across the continent.
Keynote speaker, Deepankar Rustagi, founder and CEO of OmniRetail Technology, delivered an insightful address titled “Narrating the Fintech Journey: From Headlines to Hustle”.
Jane Egerton-Idehen, CEO of Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited and founder of VonTech Group, emphasized the role of start-ups in driving Africa’s digital economy. She said, “Start-ups continue to empower and create impact across the continent, and this summit underscores the importance of supporting them to attract funding, meet investors, and form strategic partnerships.”
Reflecting on the event, Daniel von Ritter, head of component at GIZ/Digital Transformation Center Nigeria, expressed satisfaction with the partnership. “Our collaboration with AfricArena gave start-ups from the Techmybiz Acceleration Program a platform to showcase their progress and connect with potential investors and partners,” he noted, thanking the organizers for a successful debut in Lagos.
Dan Mabbyalas, director at AfricArise and head of products and programs at AfricArena, praised the summit for its focus on bold ideas, innovative technologies, and collaboration. “The African tech ecosystem is not just rising — it’s unstoppable,” he declared, congratulating all the start-ups that participated, with special recognition to the winners.
