The Presidency has announced plans to host a significant national engagement next month, dedicated to fostering direct, open collaboration between the government and Nigeria’s entrepreneurial community. The initiative, titled “Dear Entrepreneurs, We See You, We Hear You,” is scheduled for December 4, 2025.
The dialogue, a core component of President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda, is intended to convene entrepreneurs from across the economic spectrum—ranging from micro and small business owners to leading innovators in the industrial and technology sectors—for candid conversations with policymakers.
A Defining Moment for National Transformation
Chalya Maryam Shagaya, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Entrepreneurship Development (Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy), characterized the event as “a defining moment to strengthen collaboration between government and the nation’s job creators.”
She reaffirmed the administration’s core commitment to building a $1 trillion economy fueled by inclusive growth, enterprise, and innovation. Shagaya noted that extensive pre-dialogue engagements with entrepreneurs across diverse sectors—including agriculture, technology, manufacturing, creative industries, fintech, and renewable energy—revealed both the significant resilience and persistent challenges faced by the business landscape. These insights directly inspired the structure and focus of the upcoming meeting.
“This dialogue is not just a conversation,” Shagaya stated. “It is a call to action to refine, realign, and reinforce the policies that empower Nigerians to build, innovate, and create value.”
Agenda Focused on Critical Growth Barriers
The Presidency emphasized that President Tinubu’s personal background as a successful entrepreneur and nation-builder lends genuine authenticity and weight to the initiative. His leadership, she noted, serves to inspire a new generation of business builders who maintain faith in Nigeria’s economic future.
The event will feature highly interactive sessions where business leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators will have the opportunity to share practical experiences and insights directly with government officials. Key topics for discussion are expected to include:
-
Improving access to finance and capital.
-
Enhancing the ease of doing business environment.
-
Fostering robust industrial growth.
-
Driving digital innovation and adoption.
-
Strategizing on scaling creative and emerging enterprises.
The engagement will be capped by a Presidential address from Bola Tinubu, who is set to reaffirm his administration’s dedication to enterprise development and the ultimate goal of achieving a $1 trillion economy under the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.’
