The Institute of Certified Business Consultants (ICBC) has emphasized that continuous mentorship and professional guidance are critical for Nigerian entrepreneurs navigating economic volatility and rapid technological change.
Addressing attendees at its 2025 Induction Ceremony in Lagos, ICBC Registrar Dr. Emmanuella Chinonye Nwankwo underscored that sustainable businesses are often built on consistent coaching and informed decision-making, particularly as artificial intelligence reshapes global markets. She highlighted ICBC’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs through advisory services, structured mentorship, and its monthly Lunch and Learn consulting series.
Dr. Nwankwo also noted that ICBC extends its training beyond members, equipping artisans, small-scale business owners, and NYSC participants with practical skills necessary for building resilient enterprises. She revealed that the Institute currently operates in six African countries and is strategically working toward a continent-wide presence over the next five years.
She stressed that integrity, excellence, and global relevance are fundamental values for consultants, especially in Nigeria’s current challenging economic climate.
ICBC President Emmanuel Utomi Ayele encouraged the newly inducted consultants to cultivate strong personal brands grounded in clarity, competence, and consistency.
The ceremony also featured the launch of The Certified Consultant, Volume One, a practical guide designed to support both emerging and established consultants across Africa. Keynote speaker and former ICAN President, Dr. Ambassador Eyitayo Comfort Olujumoke, urged inductees to remain strategic, ethical, and solutions-oriented in their work. Representatives from the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) highlighted the vital role consultants play in reducing the circulation of substandard goods through enhanced industry guidance.
Additionally, the event marked the unveiling of the ICBC Professional Business School and recognized outstanding professionals with awards and certificates, reinforcing the Institute’s commitment to excellence and professional development in Africa’s business consulting landscape.
