Lagos, Nigeria, has been selected to host the milestone 10th Anniversary of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Africa Conference on International Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Scheduled for June 3 to 5, 2026, at the Lagos Continental Hotel, this edition marks a triumphant and symbolic return to the city where the influential conference began a decade ago.
Since its inception in 2016, the ICC Africa Conference has grown to be the continent’s most significant platform for legal minds, policymakers, and business leaders to deliberate on modern dispute resolution. Its return to Lagos, after two years in Nairobi, underscores Nigeria’s vital and central role in the growth and professionalisation of ADR across Africa.
Setting the Next Decade’s Agenda
ICC Nigeria, the national committee of the world business organization, views the 10th anniversary as a defining moment for the entire African arbitration community. The event promises to be a powerful blend of reflection on the last decade’s progress and forward-looking discussions to shape the future of commercial dispute resolution in the continent’s rapidly expanding economic landscape.
Professor Dorothy Ufot, SAN, Chair of the Arbitration and ADR Commission of ICC Nigeria, described the excitement surrounding the event:
“This conference promises to be the mother of all Arbitration and ADR conferences on the African Continent… We look forward to welcoming the best minds to Lagos in 2026 to discuss the latest trends and challenges in international arbitration and ADR in Africa.”
