As Nigeria approaches its 65th Independence anniversary, a new generation of thinkers and reformers is gathering to chart a fresh course for the nation’s leadership and governance. The Oxford Global Think Tank (OGTT) is convening some of the country’s most influential voices — from policymakers and business moguls to innovators and scholars — for a strategic dialogue themed “Better Leadership for a Better Nigeria.”

The high-level summit, scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, seeks to ignite meaningful discourse on leadership ethics, inclusive governance, and the role of innovation in national renewal.

A Convergence of Visionary Minds

Among the distinguished attendees are former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) and the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, both renowned for their thought leadership and advocacy for reform. They will be joined by Governor Alex Otti, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, and industry leader Atedo Peterside, along with other national figures including Bukola Saraki, Anyim Pius Anyim, Kayode Fayemi, and Doris Uzoka-Anite, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.

The gathering reflects an intentional blend of experience and innovation — bringing together statesmen, entrepreneurs, and youth leaders to deliberate on Nigeria’s future through four thematic lenses:

  • Public Policy and Inclusive Governance

  • Economic Transformation through Business Leadership

  • Technology and Entrepreneurship

  • Intergenerational Transition

Beyond Dialogue: Shaping a Blueprint for Renewal

According to Williams Eze, OGTT’s Conference Programme Manager, the event is not simply a forum for speeches but a catalyst for strategic collaboration. “Nigeria’s future depends on our ability to build leadership that is ethical, visionary, and accountable,” he said. “This conference will serve as a platform for practical frameworks, not just ideas.”

The Oxford Global Think Tank will also unveil its inaugural report, “RAMP Africa: Reforming African Minerals to Prosper Africa,” offering a fresh economic perspective on how the continent’s natural resources can drive shared prosperity.

Adding to the intellectual depth of the event, OGTT founder Arunma Oteh will present her new book, “All Hands on Deck: Unleash Prosperity through World-Class Capital Markets,” first published in the United Kingdom earlier this year.

Leadership Through Art and Innovation

In a creative twist, the conference will feature a curated art exhibition on leadership, merging visual storytelling with reflective commentary to explore the human side of governance. This segment will invite participants to engage with leadership not only as policy but as culture — shaped by empathy, courage, and shared responsibility.

Expected attendees include Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Abubakar Suleiman, Leo Stan Ekeh, Gbenga Agboola, and several other CEOs, public officials, and innovators representing Nigeria’s dynamic private and public sectors.

Building the Future, Together

The OGTT conference arrives at a critical moment in Nigeria’s history — when the demand for integrity, innovation, and collaboration in leadership has never been stronger. By convening leaders from across generations and industries, the event seeks to inspire a new governance model anchored in inclusion, accountability, and transformative vision.

As the nation reflects on 65 years of independence, the message is clear: the path to a better Nigeria begins with better leadership — and that journey starts now.
