The landscape of youth entrepreneurship in Nigeria is receiving a sustained boost through targeted private-sector collaborations. At the National Youth Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Summit (YEEP 2026) in Abuja, Nestlé Nigeria and the Activate Success International Foundation (ASIF) reaffirmed their commitment to an eight-year partnership designed to turn early-stage ideas into viable businesses.
With over 70% of Nigeria’s population composed of young people, corporate leaders emphasize that building robust ecosystems for youth-led enterprises is a critical driver for national socio-economic stability.
The Innovation and Funding Paradigm
Speaking under the summit’s theme, “Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Courage and Impact,” representatives from Nestlé Nigeria highlighted that funding naturally gravitates toward functional solutions. Rather than searching for passive capital, young entrepreneurs are being urged to focus on building enterprises that solve real, localized problems.
This structural framework encourages young founders to move beyond momentary business milestones and focus instead on long-term operational resilience.
Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration to Drive Growth
A key highlight of the YEEP 2026 summit was the active participation of major corporate, fintech, and public-sector actors. The collaborative network includes tech giants like Flutterwave alongside various government representatives, all working to lower entry barriers for early-stage business owners.
By connecting young talent with established corporate leaders, the alliance aims to create a highly supportive, practical environment where local innovations can scale. Ultimately, fostering these collaborative networks is seen as essential to boosting domestic manufacturing, reducing youth unemployment, and driving sustainable economic progress across the country.
