The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Professor Muhammad Khalil Usman, has held strategic talks with the Chairman of Max Air and the AFDIN Group of Companies, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal, to forge a partnership focused on research, industry innovation, and youth economic empowerment. Leading the university’s executive management team on a high-level courtesy visit to Mangal’s country home in Katsina, Professor Usman detailed the institution’s plan to commercialize academic research findings across its 60 active disciplines to address critical socio-economic challenges facing Nigeria.
During the encounter, the Vice-Chancellor formally invited the industrialist to serve as the Special Guest at FUDMA’s upcoming pre-convocation lecture scheduled for November. Given the country’s youth unemployment statistics, Professor Usman emphasized that Mangal’s corporate experience would provide invaluable mentorship to students by mapping out pathways in venture creation and trade. Accepting the invitation, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal commended the university’s management for prioritizing practical industry-academic integration and pledged his corporate backing to expand education, technological innovation, and infrastructural research frameworks at the institution.
