The 2025 edition of the Arise Walk for Life and Women Conference, organised by Arise Women, will kick off on Saturday, November 1, and conclude on Sunday, November 2, in Lagos.

Founded by Dr. Siju Iluyomade, Arise Women continues its mission of empowering women and supporting the less privileged through health advocacy, education, and social impact initiatives. Now in its 17th year, the annual event is expected to draw thousands of participants both onsite and online from across Nigeria and beyond.

Theme: GRIT – Greatness, Resilience, Innovation, and Teamwork

This year’s theme, “GRIT: Greatness, Resilience, Innovation, and Teamwork,” embodies the spirit of perseverance and excellence that defines Nigerian women. The two-day event will begin with the signature Arise Walk for Life, a fitness and awareness walk designed to promote healthy living, community engagement, and women’s empowerment.

Participants will trek through key routes within Victoria Island, culminating in a celebration featuring live gospel performances, comedy acts, and appearances by top Nigerian celebrities.

Day Two: The Arise Women Conference

The main conference will be held on Sunday, November 2, at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, where influential women from diverse fields will share insights and deliver inspiring speeches centred on the GRIT philosophy.

In addition to discussions, the event will also feature the distribution of the Arise Pink Bucket Packages — care packages filled with food items and household essentials — to thousands of underprivileged families.

Empowering Communities Beyond the Stage

Since its inception, Arise Women has made tangible impacts across communities through charitable outreach, education, healthcare programs, and economic empowerment initiatives. In 2024 alone, the organisation distributed over 2,000 Arise Pink Buckets to residents in Surulere, Mushin, Ojuelegba, Apapa, and other parts of Lagos.

Through the Walk for Life and the Women’s Conference, Arise Women continues to reinforce its vision of building stronger, healthier, and more empowered communities — one step, one woman, and one act of compassion at a time.
